Stunt driver charged with impaired

A Bright's Grove driver is without their vehicle for the next two weeks.

Lambton OPP officers spotted a speeding vehicle on the westbound Highway 402, travelling at 155 kilometres per hour in a 100 km/h zone at around 9:30 Monday night.

During a traffic stop, officers suspected the driver was under the influence of alcohol and administered a roadside screening device.

The 41-year-old driver was arrested, and police said they provided two breath samples over the legal limit.

The accused has been charged with operation while impaired, stunt driving and failure to surrender licence under the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

In Ontario, if you are charged with stunt driving you will be subject to an immediate 30 day roadside licence suspension and your vehicle will be impounded for 14 days.
