Groundhog Harvey heralds early spring

Spring is just around the corner according to Groundhog Harvey, and other celebrity groundhogs.

The Oil Springs weather prognosticator didn't see his shadow when he emerged from his home at Heaven's Wildlife Rescue just after 8 a.m. Friday.

According to folklore, if a groundhog sees its shadow on February 2nd, it will retreat into its burrow, heralding six more weeks of cold weather.

In Wiarton, Willie agreed with Harvey and also predicted an early spring.

Both Nova Scotia's Shubenacadie Sam and Punxsutawney Phil emerged from their burrow's to say warmer and sunny days are ahead.
