UPDATE: Crews battle downtown fire

The cause of the fire in downtown Sarnia Wednesday night is being listed as undetermined but is believed to be accidental in nature.

Sarnia Fire and Rescue were called to a structure fire just before 11:30 p.m. on Christina Street near Maria Street.

Officials said the fire was toward the back of the mixed-use building, which included a business and living quarters.

No injuries were reported, and a family cat was rescued from the blaze.

Sarnia Fire Rescue Public Education Officer Mike Otis said the damage estimate is expected to be over $250,000.
