Armoured vehicles will be in the Sarnia area on Thursday as Canadian Army Reserve personnel from 1st Hussars conduct convoy training.

The convoy is expected to travel south on Highway 402 and along London Line.

Soldiers and vehicles will not be carrying weapons or ammunition.

"This important training is being conducted to maintain and develop the ability of Canadian Army Reserve soldiers to be successful while on operations," read a public service announcement from the Canadian Armed Forces. "Conducting convoy and driver training ensures that all the supplies, personnel, and services necessary for Canadian Armed Forces operations are available when and where they are required."

No areas will be closed to the public while training is conducted. However, residents are asked to be cautious if approaching military vehicles.

Officials confirmed to Sarnia News Today on Thursday that the training will take place during the evening hours, starting after 4 p.m.
