Residents are being asked to provide input, related to their satisfaction with living in Sarnia and what they would like to see more of, through an online survey as city council develops a strategic plan.
The plan will outline a mission statement, priorities, and goals for the governing body to keep in mind with future decisions. City council outlined some future priorities during a planning session held on February 27.
As part of the development process, a short survey is currently available on the Speak Up Sarnia website.
City of Sarnia Communications Manager Steve Henschel said the short survey can be completed in five to 12 minutes.
"There's a very wide range of topics that individuals can weigh in on and there's also some open-ended questions in case they have something that's not captured in terms of the multiple-choice," he said.
The online survey will remain available until March 29 at 4 p.m.
Henschel said Deloitte (the company running the survey) will compile the information into a report for council to review.
There will be in-person opportunities for public engagement as well. Henschel said dates will be announced via social media and on the city's website.
The final strategic plan is expected to be presented to council in July.
