A 28 year-old woman was arrested following an assault earlier this month that involved a group of students on London Road.
Sarnia police said on March 4, a group of youths were looking to cross from London Road School to the Boys & Girls Sarnia-Lambton after-school program at the Lochiel Kiwanis Centre when they noticed a woman behaving erratically.
According to investigators, she ran onto the road and directed the group across.
Its alleged when the group was crossing she approached them, grabbing one of the students, causing scratches.
The youth did not need medical attention and the woman was not known to the youths or staff.
City police were quickly involved and located the woman nearby.
It's alleged the woman was in medical destress when she was apprehended by officers and taken to a medical facility.
It's believed her medical state at the time was a contributing factor in her alleged erratic behaviour and assault.
The 28 year-old was released from custody for necessary medical treatment while police investigated the incident.
On March 12, the woman was arrested and is facing charges of adult assault and failing to comply with a probation order.
Police believe it was an isolated incident, and said the woman was involved in other reported incidents the same day, demonstrating the same erratic and irrational behaviour.
She has been released from custody on conditions.
