Bluewater Health has announced plans to reopen its laboratory at Petrolia's Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital (CEEH).
The hospital said in a news release on Tuesday that outpatient and walk-in appointments will be accepted on Monday, April 22.
"The Petrolia lab has been temporarily closed for non-urgent and walk-in appointments as the hospital worked through post-cyberattack digital systems recovery," the notice from Communications and Public Affairs Chief Keith Marnoch read.
"Patients should expect longer-than-usual wait times as CEEH Laboratory staff work with some remaining downtime processes and expected increased volumes," he added.
Bluewater Health said its outpatient lab services in Petrolia are accessed through primary care provider requisitions.
The hospital said it appreciates the community’s patience and understanding as work has been done to restore the Petrolia outpatient lab services.
Bluewater Health started mailing letters to approximately 82,000 patients last week, whose personal health information was compromised in the fall cyberattack.
President and CEO Paula Reaume-Zimmer said each hospital would notify their own patients.
