Vehicle catches fire in Plympton-Wyoming crash

An SUV sustained extensive damage after catching fire during a single-vehicle crash in Plympton-Wyoming.

Just before 6 a.m. Wednesday, Lambton OPP were called to a report of an SUV on fire in a ditch on Hillcrest Road, near Lakeshore Road.

Firefighters from the Plympton-Wyoming Fire and Emergency Department were also called in to extinguish the blaze.

No injuries were reported, and the road was closed for about 15 minutes.

A 51-year-old resident from Bright's Grove is charged with careless driving.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
