'Halfway There' secures seven nominations for Theatre Sarnia

Theatre Sarnia has secured seven nominations at this year's Western Ontario Drama League [WODL] Festival Awards.

Executive Director Brian Austin Jr. said the nominations confirm their dedication to theatrical innovation and storytelling through the performing arts.

"Theatre Sarnia's nominations reflect the organization's commitment to fostering talent both on and off the stage, as well as its dedication to creating unforgettable theatrical experiences for audiences," said Austin Jr.

"We are incredibly honoured to receive these nominations from the Western Ontario Drama League. They stand as a testament to the hard work and dedication of our talented cast, crew, and volunteers who bring our productions to life. We are immensely proud of their achievements," he added.

Four women have been nominated for the roles they had in the production of Norm Foster's Halfway There.

Mandy Davidson is up for the Best Newcomer Award for her portrayal of 'Janine’ and Holly Wenning is in the running for Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Role following her role as ‘Rita’.

Amanda Jenkins has been nominated for an Award of Merit Behind the Scenes for her front-of-house display and Jane Walker is up for an award for Outstanding Direction.

Other nominations include: Outstanding Ensemble Production, Outstanding Production and Best Production of a Canadian Play.

The award ceremonies will be held in London at the Delta London Armouries Hotel on May 17 and May 18.
