Police end pursuit of alleged thief over safety concerns

Sarnia police are looking for a man accused of stealing a crossbow and arrows from a Quinn Drive business on Thursday.

It's alleged the suspect fled in a silver Kia Sorrento SUV, and officers spotted it travelling eastbound on London Line.

Police said an officer tried to stop the vehicle, however, the driver refused and began to cross over multiple lanes of traffic, weaving in between vehicles.

The officer was forced to stop the pursuit for public safety reasons.

Police said the license plate on the vehicle is believed to have been altered. Anyone with information about the suspect or vehicle is asked to contact the Sarnia Police Service at 519-344-8861 ext. 0 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
