Sarnia police are appealing to the public for information after a robbery and assault that saw a heavy police presence in the area of London Road and the Howard Watson Nature Trail on Friday.

Police said they were called to a heavy disturbance in the area involving a number of people.

Investigators were given initial information that a victim had allegedly been stabbed and one of the suspects was possibly in possession with a firearm.

An update posted to social media at 5:19 p.m. said the area had reopened to the public.

Police did not release suspect descriptions but said it will be released once it becomes available.
