Applications for the 2024 Community Impact Grants are open for community organizations in Sarnia-Lambton.
They are available for non-profit social services organizations.
Sarnia Community Foundation (SCF) Executive Director Mike Barron said these grants help with support programs.
"The purpose behind them is really for like organizations that are collaborating, working together or they've got something new that they're going to try to do," he said.
According to Barron, the timing of this year's Community Impact Grants and ceremony has been pushed back slightly.
He said the foundation is implementing a new computer management system.
"Next year when we do the grants process it will be an automated process," he said. "We feel in 2025 the customer relations management program will allow us to have more online utilization for the organizations."
Barron said the grant has been impactful for local organizations.
"Last year was our 40th anniversary and we were able to give back through grants, the scholarships and so forth over a million dollars," he said.
Barron added these grants are important to the organizations.
This year, just under $780,000 is up for grabs.
Applications can be submitted until June 14 at 4:30 p.m.
A ceremony will be held for the successful applicants in the fall.
