Lambton signs conditional agreement with affordable housing in mind

The County of Lambton's Housing Services Department has entered into a conditional agreement to purchase the St. Bartholomew Church property in Sarnia.

"The county is undergoing its due diligence against the property, with the intention of the potential purchase being to develop new affordable housing," Manager Melisa Johnson said in a news release.

The county said details on the Cathcart Boulevard transaction and plans for any potential new development were unavailable at this time and further information would be shared at a later date.

Meanwhile, county staff were directed on June 5 to discuss an Option to Purchase Agreement for the donation of the Victoria Street parking lot from the City of Sarnia.

It has also been offered as a possible site for affordable housing.
