Police seek owner of found canoe

Lambton OPP are appealing for the public's help in locating the owner of a canoe found in the St. Clair River.

The empty vessel was pulled from the water along St. Clair Parkway,  just before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9.

The only identifying marking on the green canoe is lettering on the side stating 'Made in Canada by WEDCO IND. LTD'.

Lambton OPP said it's believed the canoe drifted away, and there are no reports of missing persons.

Police said attempts to locate and identify the owner of the canoe have been unsuccessful.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
