UPDATE: Highway 402 reopens after flooding near Watford

A section of Highway 402 in Watford was under water Tuesday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) closed the eastbound highway at Nauvoo Road for several hours after heavy rain pooled on the off ramp there.

The westbound highway was also closed at Kerwood Road.

Police were reminding motorists to not attempt to drive on closed roads.

Last August, Warwick Township declared a state of emergency after significant rainfall flooded the highway for several hours.

Highway 402 fully reopened to traffic just before 3 p.m.
