SIU probing fatal police shooting in London

The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is looking into the fatal police shooting of a London teen late Tuesday night.

The police watchdog said just before midnight, London police responded to a domestic violence call at a Wellesley Crescent home.

The SIU said a 17-year-old girl and a 22-year-old man were both found suffering from stab wounds.

It's alleged officers located a man inside the home with a knife in his hand, and during an interaction with police, two officers discharged their firearms.

The 18-year-old was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The SIU said a third man inside the home was not hurt and the female victim remains in hospital in critical condition. The injured man has been released from hospital.

Three investigators and two forensic investigators have been assigned to the case.

A post-mortem is scheduled for Thursday.

The SIU is a civilian law enforcement agency that investigates incidents involving police officers where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
