SPS host annual online auction

The Sarnia Police Service (SPS) will hold its annual online property auction this weekend.

The service has partnered with Shackelton Auctions to offer online bidding.

Items to be auctioned off include vehicles, bicycles, tools, clothing, and jewelry.

Potential buyers can view the items in person at the Wyoming Fairgrounds on Friday, July 19 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

The online auction will open on Saturday, July 20 at 7 a.m. and will close on July 25 at 7 p.m.

Successful bidders can pick up their items at the Wyoming Fairgrounds on July 26 between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Under the Community Safety and Policing Act, a police service can sell seized, lost, or stolen items that have never been claimed.

Proceeds from the auction will be maintained by the Sarnia Police Service Board and can be used for something that's deemed a public interest, such as a charitable donation.
