Rock the Boat fundraiser returns for second year

The second annual Rock The Boat event in downtown Sarnia to support pancreatic cancer awareness will be held next week.

Spokesperson Dean Sowinski said two river cruises will be held on the Duc d'Orleans on Friday, August 2 where guests can enjoy music by Retrospect.

Cruises will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

After the cruises, Sowinski said a show will be held at the Sarnia Royal Canadian Legion with Mentalist and Comedian Buzz Collins at 10:30 p.m. Sowinski said the entertainer previously had a show in Las Vegas.

"So it should be a pretty good show," he said.

Sowinski said tickets are going fast. There is the option to bundle the cruise and show together or to only go to one.

"One hundred per cent of the proceeds go to pancreatic cancer awareness," Sowinski said. "Wear purple that night and prepare to have a lot of fun!"

Tickets can be purchased online at firstfriday.ca. According to its website, events are held rain or shine
