'Egg-citing' donation funds MRI at Strathroy hospital

The owners of Gray Ridge Egg Farms have made a "record-breaking" contribution to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation (SMGH Foundation) to fully fund a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner.

William and Lynne Gray and L.H. Gray & Son Limited recently donated $2.2 million.

The foundation said the large contribution puts them closer to meeting a $5 million pledge to SMGH.

"With the introduction of MRI services, we anticipate reduced wait times and improved access to high-quality healthcare for residents of Strathroy and surrounding areas," said Middlesex Hospital Alliance Board Chair Melanie Stanley in a statement released to the media. "The SMGH Board is overwhelmed with the generosity of the Grays and L.H. Gray & Son Limited transformational gift."

To acknowledge the significant donation, the entire imaging department will be renamed "The Bill & Lynne Gray, L.H. Gray & Son Limited Diagnostic Imaging Department."

L.H. Gray & Son Limited is a family-owned business established in 1934 with locations across Canada, however, its office is in Strathroy.
