Suspicious behaviour prompts drug investigation

Two people have been charged after Sarnia police seized $1,434 worth of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Sarnia Police Service "plain clothes officers" noticed some suspicious behavior in the area of Elgin Street and Napier Street on July 26 at 11:30 a.m.

Two people inside a yellow pickup truck allegedly displayed behaviour consistent with drug trafficking.

City police said there were several interactions between those in the truck and pedestrians.

The two were placed under arrest and officers seized 1.36 grams of fentanyl, 24.6 grams of methamphetamine, and $420.

A 51-year-old Sarnia man was charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, and a 28-year-old woman was charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of fentanyl.

The accused were held for bail and were later released with conditions.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
