Plympton-Wyoming seeks new fire chief, again

After less than a year in the role, Erik Campbell is no longer the fire chief in Plympton-Wyoming.

In a news release issued on Monday, August 19, the town said effectively immediately Campbell is no longer employed by the town.

"The town would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his contributions and wish him the best in his future endeavours," read the statement.

Campbell took on the position of fire chief and director of emergency services in October, 2023, following the departure of former fire chief Darryl Thompson in May of last year.

The town said that as this is a confidential personnel matter, there will not be any further comment.

Will Davidson was appointed as the acting fire chief on Monday afternoon.

The town said it is looking forward to working with Davidson during this transition period.
