Minimal damage reported in Northgate dumpster fire

Sarnia Fire Rescue crews extinguished a dumpster fire at the Northgate Plaza early Thursday morning.

Just before 4:20 a.m., an officer with the Sarnia Police Community Response Division noticed a dumpster near the Dollarama was fully engulfed in flames.

Police said it was against a building and the fire posed a significant risk to the structure.

Minimal damage was reported to the building, however, police said the potential for the strucure to ignite was significant.
