UPDATE: Diesel leak temporarily closes Blue Water Bridge

The Blue Water Bridge was closed for several hours Saturday morning following a diesel leak from a commercial vehicle.

Lambton OPP said at around 8:45 a.m. emergency crews responded to a report of a commercial vehicle experiencing a fuel leak.

Police said the westbound lanes were closed for clean-up. The closure was expected to last three to four hours.

Drivers were advised to adjust their travel plans accordingly.

The Federal Bridge Corporation said that while clean-up efforts were ongoing, traffic resumed at 1:47 p.m.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
