Assault charge laid in road rage incident

A Forest resident is charged in connection with a road rage incident Monday.

Middlesex OPP responded to a disturbance at a Centre Road business in Strathroy just after 3 p.m.

Police said the incident involved two individuals who were allegedly involved in a road rage incident earlier on Egremont Drive in Adelaide Metcalfe. No injuries were reported.

A 40-year-old Forest man is charged with assault. He's been released from custody with a November court date.

OPP are reminding motorists that with heavy traffic and construction on area roads, driving can be frustrating and stressful but it's important to stay calm and in control of our emotions.

Police said to avoid succumbing to aggressive behaviors give yourself time to get where you're going, plan for and prepare for possible delays.

Motorists are also advised to avoid speeding, weaving through traffic, cutting other drivers off and avoid making rude gestures or remarks.

If you feel threatened for fear for your safety, you're advised to call 911 immediately.
