Sarnia police said at 10:15 p.m., information was received that a 37-year-old man, wanted in connection to several break and enters, was at a Maxwell Street home near Russell Street.

While officers set up containment of the home, a warrant was obtained and the Emergency Response Team along with the Police Dog Team entered the property at 11:42 p.m.

Police said the suspect was found hiding in the attic and taken into custody where he was held for bail.

He's charged with eight counts of break and enter, two counts of mischief and theft under $5,000.

Police are thanking the public for their help in locating the accused, who previously avoided capture on two occasions.
