Sarnia police recover stolen trailer, snowmobiles

Sarnia police have recovered two snowmobiles and a trailer, previously reported stolen to Lambton OPP in early September.

OPP previously said the items were stolen from a Huron Street property in Plympton-Wyoming on September 7.

Sarnia police said the items were worth approximately $40,000.

Members of the Criminal Investigations Division were granted a warrant on September 26 to search a Tashmoo Avenue property.

City police said the snowmobiles were found concealed within a sea can and the trailer was hidden in a nearby forested area. They were returned to the rightful owner.

A 53-year-old Sarnia man was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
