Motorcycle driver dies after Vidal Street crash

A 42-year-old man has died after a crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck.

The Sarnia Police Service, Sarnia Fire Rescue, and Lambton EMS were called to the area of Vidal Street and Huron Boulevard at around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the driver of the motorcycle suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported by paramedics to hospital for immediate care.

He eventually succumbed to his injuries while at hospital.

The driver of the pickup truck wasn't hurt.

The intersection was shut down for several hours by police but has since reopened.

The Traffic Services Unit has taken over the investigation of the collision, and police said no additional information is available at this time.
