Motorcycle driver dies after Vidal Street crash

A 42-year-old man has died after a crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck.

The Sarnia Police Service, Sarnia Fire Rescue and Lambton EMS were called to the area of Vidal Street and Huron Boulevard at around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the operator of the motorcycle suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital where he died. The operator of the pickup truck was not injured.

The intersection was closed to traffic for about nine hours and reopened at around 11:30 p.m.

The Traffic Services Unit has taken over the investigation, and police said no additional information is available at this time. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has dash-cam footage is asked to contact the lead investigator, Cst. Mike Ross at 519-344-8861 extension 6216.
