Damage is extensive in a fire Monday evening on Trudeau Drive.
Sarnia Fire and Rescue responded to a fully involved structure fire near Prestwick Crescent just before 7:30 p.m.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and flames shooting out the main floor windows of the semi-detached home.
The occupants of the home were able to make it out before crews arrived, but unfortunately two family dogs succumbed to their injuries.
Fire officials said firefighting efforts were affected by the amount of possessions in the home.
The Ontario Fire Marshal's Office has been notified and the cause is under investigation.
