The pace of construction activity in Sarnia continues to slow down a little bit, as we enter into the fall months.
In September, 30 permits were issued at Sarnia City Hall, down from 52 in August, worth a total of $3.7 million.
That includes $662,000 in demolition permits, and brings the year-to-date total to over $121.6 million.
The largest permit was for $1.25 million at 1567 Michigan Line.
The owners will be building a structure to be used for agricultural storage and processing, with agricultural market space and a covered front porch.
A permit, worth $900,000, was issued to Complex Inc. Plank Road Industrial at 1295 Plank Road for changes to the interior of the existing building shell.
No new permits were handed out for single family homes, leaving the year-to-date total sitting at 16. That's down from 21 issued during the first nine months of 2023.
