Contractor faces a dozen fraud and theft charges

A local contractor has been charged with fraud.

Sarnia police investigated several complaints about the owner of McMillan Flooring and More Inc.

It's alleged the 33-year-old defrauded multiple customers between May and June.

Police said the accused solicited business from several customers across Lambton County and despite receiving deposits to secure flooring contracts, failed to fulfill his obligations, allegedly using the funds for personal gain.

The business owner has been charged with five counts each of fraud under $5,000 and theft under $5,000.

He's also charged with fraud over $5,000 and theft over $5,000.
