Second driver dies after Courtright Line crash

Lambton OPP say a second person has died after a three-vehicle crash on Courtright Line near Mandaumin Road, just over a week ago.

Emergency crews were called to the area on October 13 at around 2:15 p.m.

Police said a 19-year-old from St. Clair Township was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Another driver was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and has since died.

A driver and passenger of the other involved vehicle were sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash sparked the creation of a petition to implement safety measures on Courtright Line.

It calls for rumble strips, roundabouts, or four-way stops to be installed at Mandaumin Road, and the intersection of Courtright Line and Kimball Road to the west of the community, which is also prone to serious crashes.

Anyone with information or dash cam footage that may help with the investigation, is asked to call Lambton OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
