Local church helping keep residents warm

Temple Baptist Church will be handing out winter clothing to those in need on Saturday.

It's the annual Warm Hearts Winter Coat Event with the Inn of the Good Shepherd.

Winter coats, boots, hats, gloves, and socks will be available for men, women, and children.

"Everybody that comes in can bring their blue food bank card from the Inn and if they don't have one they can register that day," said Clothing Drive Ministry Volunteer Pat Bell.

Additionally, everyone in the family must have some sort of ID.

Bell said whenever they host the event, they run out of donations, especially when it comes to men's clothes.

"We probably run out of men's clothes by 10 o'clock in the morning," she said. "Donations are what keep our community going."

Anyone looking to donate for the event can do so until Saturday.

Bell said they accept donations year round and anyone looking to give away some clothing can do so at the church on Quinn Drive.

The Warm Hearts Winter Coat event will run from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m.
