Oil Museum hosts annual trick-or-treat event

Children can again go trick-or-treating at historic buildings in Oil Springs to get into the Halloween spirit.

The Oil Museum of Canada will host its annual Cackling Cauldrons: A Trick-or-Treat Event on Saturday, October 26.

Children are encouraged to wear their costumes. Halloween-themed crafts and games will also be set up inside the museum.

“This event is about bringing our community together for light-hearted Halloween fun,” said Educational Program Coordinator Christina Sydorko. “This is a safe and welcoming space where families can enjoy Halloween in the daylight without the worries of busy streets. It’s a chance for families to come together, celebrate, and create lasting memories in a place that’s part of our shared history.”

In celebration of the county's 175th anniversary, Lambton County residents do not have to pay an admission fee to the museum. Regular admission applies to non-county residents.

The Cackling Cauldrons event will be held from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Afterwards, families can attend the Village of Oil Springs' Children’s Halloween Party, which will be held from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Youth Centre on Wellington Street.

The family-friendly event will feature games, crafts, and a costume contest.
