Ahead of Remembrance Day, poppies are being distributed across Lambton county.
Sarnia Legion Branch 62 First Vice President Les Jones said donation boxes will be available at area businesses as of Friday, October 25.
"We've got a huge group of volunteers that will be distributing the boxes throughout the city, and we just ask everybody to wear one, and if you can make a donation it's greatly appreciated," said Jones.
Money raised from the campaign goes toward the local poppy trust fund which helps provide assistance for area veterans and their dependents from medical appliances to transportation.
The poppy has been an emblem of remembrance of Canada since 1921.
