Equipment stolen during industrial break-in

Sarnia police are investigating a break-in at an industrial property on Scott Road, where thieves reportedly rammed a vehicle into the fence, causing significant damage.

Police said the incident occurred on October 29 at 3:50 a.m.

"The thieves gained access to the property by backing up to the locked main gates and ramming the fence down with the rear of a flatbed truck," police said in a media release.

A Lincoln welder, worth approximately $50,000, was towed from the property.

The vehicle is described as a white, older-model Ford or Dodge truck with a flatbed.

Police said the truck appears to have a company logo on the side, although further details were not released.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Shawn Munro at (519) 344-8861 extension 6179, or Sarnia-Lambton Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.p3tips.com.
