Sarnia council has referred a revised plan for exterior enhancements to Sarnia's downtown library branch to the 2026 budget process.
City/County Councillor Brian White recommended the project be postponed to focus on priorities.

A survey will be launched to determine if the city's accessibility transportation options are adequate.

The recommendation was received from the Sarnia Accessibility Advisory Committee.

A recommendation to re-allocate the $400,000 from the Ontario Building Faster Fund to the construction of the Wellington Street extension to facilitate housing development was defeated.
City/County Councillor Brian White asked why the money wouldn't be allocated for housing, highlighting a requirement to secure the initial 70 per cent of funding.
"It's right in our report," White noted. "City staff developed an investment plan that proposed a transfer of funds to the County of Lambton for the development of affordable housing units in Sarnia. That's what this money was provided for."
City Treasurer Kristen McGill said staff looked at current capital projects underway and determined it would be better to use this funding for projects currently underway and maintain reserves the city currently has.
Councillors Terry Burrell, Chrissy McRoberts, Bill Dennis and Mayor Mike Bradley had voted in favour of using the funds for the Wellington Street extension.
