Kettle & Stony Point re-elect Chief

Kimberly Bressette was re-elected as Chief of the Chippewas of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation for the upcoming two-year term.

Members of the First Nation voted for Chief and council Friday.

Results posted on social media showed Bressette received 411 votes, while Jason Henry received 236 votes.

Bressette was first elected as Chief in 2022.

Nine people were elected to council. Elizabeth Cloud received the most votes with 372.

Other elected members include Jack Brown, David Cloud, Stanley Cloud, Jorden George, Larry Vincent Sr. George, Melissa Monague, Carla Oliver and Alison Price.

A total of 45 people were vying for one of the available council spots.
