Two local museums will hold open houses during a PA Day to help get people into the festive spirit.
Lambton Heritage Museum will host holiday-themed activities, including a Christmas cracker craft, a costumed interpreter, and a hayride around the Grand Bend museum.
Meanwhile, the Oil Museum of Canada will also offer a variety of crafts, including traditional candle-dipping. Victorian Santa will also be at the Oil Springs event to take photos with attendees.
Both museums will serve a warm traditional holiday drink made from apple cider, called Wassail.
“We are thrilled to offer two magical holiday experiences for families to enjoy on the PA Day,” said Lambton County Museums and Archives Marketing and Events Coordinator Jessica Stevenson. “Visitors will experience the joy of Lambton County’s early holiday traditions brought to life through costumed interpreters, holiday-themed activities, and a cup of Wassail at either location. It’s the perfect way to kick off the holiday season!”
The drop-in events will be held on Friday, November 15 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The admission fee has been waived for Lambton residents in celebration of the county's 175th anniversary.
The Oil Museum will collect non-perishable food items to support the local food bank. Non-Lambton County residents can donate food items instead of paying an admission fee.
