For the first time ever, The St. Andrew's Society of Petrolia has a woman at the helm.
Catriona Henderson has been named president as the society marks 152 years.
The St. Andrew’s Society, which honours Scotland’s patron saint with music, food, and fellowship, will celebrate the milestone with its annual dinner later this month.
“This year’s dinner is a celebration of not only our Scottish heritage but also progress and inclusivity,” said Henderson. “It’s an honor to lead this organization as we continue to honor our past while embracing the future.”
The dinner, complete with lively bagpipe music and Robert Burns' poetry, is set for November 28 at the Petrolia Legion.
Education Program Coordinator with the Oil Museum of Canada Christina Sydorko is this year's guest speaker.
