Sarnia Sting shut out by the Firebirds in Flint

The Sarnia Sting fell to the Firebirds in Flint, 3-2 in a shootout Wednesday night.

Ruslan Karimov scored a pair for the Sting (8-13-5) to send the game to overtime, and eventually a shootout.

Nathan Aspinall secured victory for Flint (10-13-0-1) with a shootout goal.

Sting netminder Nick Surzycia stopped 28 of 30 shots. 

The Sting are home Brampton on Friday at 7:05 p.m., ahead of the Teddy Bear Toss game Sunday afternoon against Saginaw.
