Damage is estimated at $150,000 in a Sarnia house fire Sunday.
An off-duty first responder notified residents in a Ross Avenue home of smoke outside the house shortly after 1 p.m.
Firefighters responded to the two-storey residence between Ontario and Russell Streets.
Sarnia Fire Rescue Captain John Milne said it was an exterior fire that extended into the attic and crews were able to salvage the home.
He said the cause of the fire is believed to be improperly discarded smoking materials.
No injuries were reported.
