Steve Pinsonneault acclaimed as PC candidate in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex

The Ontario Progressive Conservative Party has announced that former Chatham-Kent councillor Steve Pinsonneault has been acclaimed as the party’s candidate for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex in the next provincial election.

“Steve Pinsonneault is a champion for his community, and his dedication to the people of Lambton-Kent-Middlesex is second to none,” said Ontario Premier Doug Ford. “From improving local health care to investing in high-speed internet and addressing cost-of- living challenges, to fighting the Liberal carbon tax, Steve is delivering actual results that make life better for families. I’m proud to have him on our team as we continue working to build a stronger Ontario.”

Pinsonneault said he takes the job very seriously.

“Representing Lambton-Kent-Middlesex is an honor and a responsibility I take to heart,” he said. “Whether it’s expanding health-care services, improving rural broadband, or training workers for the jobs of the future, I’m dedicated to making sure our communities thrive. There’s still much to do, and I’m ready to keep working alongside the people of this great region to build a stronger, more prosperous Ontario.”

Pinsonneault was elected as the PC Member of Provincial Parliament for the riding in May 2024 after cabinet minister Monte McNaughton resigned to take a job in the private sector.

Pinsonneault served as a municipal councillor in Chatham-Kent for 17 years.

The next general election in Ontario is tentatively scheduled to be held on June 4, 2026. However, speculation has been swirling that Premier Ford will call a snap election soon to take advantage of a lead in the polls and fundraising.

Political pundits also believe that Ford wants to hold the provincial election before the next federal election.
