Dumpster fire causes $100K in damage

Damage is estimated at approximately $100,000 after a large dumpster fire broke out between two houses on Vidal Street South on Friday.

Sarnia fire crews were called to the area, near Devine Street, just before 6:30 a.m.

The fire caused obvious damage to the sidings of both houses.

However, Sarnia Fire Rescue Services said a quick response prevented the flames from spreading to the attics and interiors.

No injuries were reported.

Public Education Officer Mike Otis said the cause of the fire was undetermined.
