UPDATE: Police conclude investigation on Cardiff Drive

The Sarnia Police Service has concluded its investigation after members of the patrol and tactical teams attended the area of Cardiff Drive and Overlea Crescent Wednesday evening.

Sarnia police warned of an increased police presence in the area just before 5:30 p.m. as the roads were closed to the public.

A social media post just before 6 p.m. advised that the roads had reopened, but that officers would remain in the area.

"There are no concerns for public safety, as they continue the investigation," Sarnia police said.

On Thursday, Insp. Leo Murphy told Sarnia News Today that the incident involved an allegation of a weapon but after investigating, "there was no criminality found."
