A rezoning application has been approved to convert a sleep clinic across from Alexander Mackenzie Secondary School on Michigan Avenue into an eight unit apartment dwelling.
Each unit will have its own kitchen amenities, separate entrance and a bathroom.
The existing parking area will be modified to accommodate the required 12 parking spaces at 1.5 parking spaces per unit.

A request for fee relief and a revenue split has been granted to Tourism Sarnia-Lambton (TSL).
World Under 17 Hockey Challenge Host Committee Co-Chair / TSL Board Chair Al Duffy told council the event had about a $5 million impact on the local economy from October 28 to November 11.
Teams from the United States, Czechia, Sweden and Finland attended the tournament.
Just over $100,000 was spent to rent Progressive Auto Sales Arena for 14 games.
Sarnia council agreed to reduce the ice rental fee by 50 per cent to just over $50,000. Council also agreed that concession stand revenue generated during the event will be split 50:50 with the Sarnia Sting.

The Sarnia Sting have been given the green light to run the community suite at Progressive Auto Sales Arena for the next five years.
City staff recommended the extension following a successful pilot.
Negotiations are set to commence in January for the 2025-26 season, and the Suite License Agreement will be part of the discussion.

Longo Holdings continues its work to build a new office building and retail store off Confederation Street.
Official plan amendments and a rezoning application were approved for the south section of the property behind the McDonalds at Vanier Road in September.
The land was historically occupied by a Rona/Cashway Hardware Store for over 30 years.

Sarnia City/County Councillor Brian White has been appointed to the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority Board for the next two years.
He will join councillors Terry Burrell and Adam Kilner who've agreed to serve another term.
Councillor Anne Marie Gillis said she was unable to commit to another term due to other commitments.

City staff have been asked to consult with the accessibility advisory committee on the removal of leaves in the city.
Councillor Chrissy McRoberts is seeking solutions in response to public concerns about timely removal.
It was suggested something similar to the snow clearing Adopt-A-Driveway program could be considered.

Staff were also directed to research options for the Stevie Go-Go tourism tuk-tuk service to access Sarnia's waterfront path along Centennial Park.
Councillor Chrissy McRoberts proposed a two year pilot project with the Village of Point Edward that would designate a specific route and speeds.
Tourism Sarnia-Lambton and the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario wrote letters supporting the request.
