New Year's closures in Sarnia-Lambton

Here’s a list of what’s open and closed on New Year’s Day (Wednesday, January 1, 2025) in Sarnia.

Post Office: Closed no mail delivery.

Sarnia Transit: Regular Service until 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 31.

New Year’s Eve extended service, with special routes every 40 minutes from 10:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1.

(NO BUSES between 11:50 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.)

No buses on Wednesday, January 1. 

Banks & Trust companies: Closed

Beer & LCBO Stores: Closed as of 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, except Quinn Drive LCBO, closed as of 8 p.m.

Closed Wednesday, January 1

Stores: Most closed.

Sarnia City Hall: Closed. Reopens on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
