Poor visibility in snow and blowing snow is expected this afternoon.

What:
Significantly reduced visibility in blowing snow.
Strong wind gusts of 70 to 80 km/h possible.
Snowfall amounts of 4 to 8 cm.

When:
Beginning this afternoon and continuing tonight and possibly into Saturday morning.

Additional Information:
A low pressure system is pushing into the region today which will bring snow,  with 4 to 8 cm possible by this evening. Strong northwesterly winds will develop behind the low which will lead to widespread blowing snow and significantly reduced visibility. Visibility may even be near zero for wind-prone and exposed areas.

Very cold wind chills are also expected to develop tonight into Saturday morning.

Keep emergency supplies in your vehicle such as extra blankets and 
jumper cables.

Watch for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.

Those visiting Bluewater Health's Cognitively Complex Continuing Care Unit in Sarnia are being asked to wear a mask now that a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared. Bluewater Health and Lambton Public Health declared an outbreak in the unit on Thursday, with fewer than 10 patients confirmed positive. While visitors are still able to see loved ones in the unit, those experiencing cold or flu symptoms are asked to stay home.The hospital said there are 11 COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health.
