Crime Stoppers says city police investigating urn theft

The theft of an urn from a local cemetery is being investigated by Sarnia police.

Sarnia-Lambton Crime Stoppers is highlighting the crime as part of its Crime of the Week.

Crime Stoppers said city police were called to investigate a theft at Resurrection Cemetery on London Line on January 6, 2025.

"Police learned that an urn had been taken from a vault which was pried open to obtain it," Crime Stoppers said. "The Sarnia Police Service are attempting to narrow down the date of the theft, however are asking the public to call if anyone has knowledge of its location."

Crime Stoppers said the theft is unrelated to the discovery of an urn in the St. Clair River in St. Clair Township on January 1.

Lambton OPP are looking to find the rightful owner of that container.
