UPDATE: Sarnia police investigating two-vehicle crash

The area of Michigan Road and Blackwell Road in Sarnia has reopened after a two-vehicle collision.

Sarnia police posted about the crash on social media shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Emergency crews had the scene cleared just after 8 p.m., police said in a second post. Adding that one of the involved drivers has been arrested and is in police custody.

Use of force by Sarnia police steady year over year

According to a report presented to the Sarnia Police Service Board late last month, 99.8 percent of the calls in 2024 were without any use of force, which is described as the use of a weapon on an individual.

Sarnia council has decided to permanently allow the use of e-bikes on trails and pathways and building investment needs at Pat Stapleton Arena have been referred to the 2026 budget.
